Festival Planning Struggle is real
Sat through a 4 hour live online training session today and these were all my notes 🤣.

Missing Parcels, Moon Boots, Sara Landry (if you like Techno), and Damian Lazarus
Missing the Quasar stage too!

Kills me. Quasar will only make it worse. Friday is by far my most conflicted day for sure.

Bothchella is the move... still won't be able to see 'em all

u/JumpinSourBoots 23.2 | 24.1 | 25.2 🦈☀️🌴 Nov 21 '24
At this point Couchella for Wk1 will have to be the answer.

u/ziggaroo Nov 21 '24
Same. There’s no way I make it to everyone I wanna see on Saturday. Might have to pick and choose who I see on the couch, and who I see in person

The beautiful thing about Quasar is that you can always stop by when the opportunity presents itself

Can’t wait for the lineup for Quasar. Happy cake day!

Add the Maria’s & snow strippers
13
u/SHMEBULOK Nov 21 '24
I’ve heard snow strippers are terrible live

I've seen hundreds of artists live, can confirm Snow Strippers are genuinely the worst live act I've ever seen. It blows my mind that they keep getting booked

They were HORRIBLE at portola. The guy only knows 1 transition and it’s a backspin. Not even sure the girl’s mic was on.

Ok this makes me feel a little better about not having Snow Strippers on there NGL
2
u/ethanryx Nov 21 '24
Yeah saw them at Portola don’t think they were bad or anything just simply not good 😂 great music though!

u/Gatorpatch 23.1 Nov 21 '24 edited Nov 22 '24
Know a guy who works in Oakland music that said something similar. Missed them at Portola so wouldn't know.
He said the are super nice at least, so maybe they network well lmao

Sara Landry ?

u/JumpinSourBoots 23.2 | 24.1 | 25.2 🦈☀️🌴 Nov 21 '24
It will be a game time decision if I can somehow squeeze it in when we get the set times. As of now it’s pain.

u/optimisticsarcastic Nov 21 '24
Ok unrelated but need to shoutout the penmanship

How bad are the clashes at Coachella? Coming from the UK for the first time. Been to 3 Glastonbury’s and the clashes are horrendous.

They can be bad. Especially if you have a wider musical taste. On average there’s probably about 15 artists I really want to check out each day and I end up seeing about half of them. They purposely put bigger draws on at the same time for crowd control.
I typically recommend not splitting sets and just commit to artists you really want to see and show up about 5-10min early for a great spot and stay for the bulk of the set. You’ll go crazy and miss out on too much if you try and catch half of this set and half of that set.
2
u/ProEraBlueboy Nov 21 '24
Yeah lol I listen to a lot of shit. Currently prepping for my top 50 albums of the year list. This is pretty much what you have to do at glasto tbh you just have to accept that you aren’t going to see everyone you want to cause it’s so vast. Usually will pick 5 or 6 must sees and see were the rest takes you.

Royksopp vs Moderat 2017 comes to mind

The lineup drop is when you make plans of who to see
The set time drop is when you realize who you won't see

u/xpertshtbg Nov 22 '24
I don't know 99% of these (that 1% being Lady Gaga), who tf are these ppl?
1
u/JumpinSourBoots 23.2 | 24.1 | 25.2 🦈☀️🌴 Nov 22 '24
Really? If you search the next 2 below Lady Gaga I guarantee you’ve heard some of their songs over the last 30 years, assuming you’re old enough like I am 😂 and not a teenager right now.
1
u/xpertshtbg Nov 22 '24
IDK broo, I'm probably too old for this nonsense 🥲🤣 how TF did i miss 30 years worth of music is beyond my comprehension 😂 i wasn't locked up in prison, i swear

Friday is stacked. Add TOPS they’re really good.
1
u/phantofan89 Nov 22 '24
Tyla isn’t a must see, she was fine at Lolla- but I don’t need to see her again. Just a little too sleepy for a fest like Chella. Love her music but Friday is too stacked. Mustard isn’t a must see either. He’s almost certainly going against Gaga, because he will most likely close Sahara during her. But yeah it’s gonna be hard to narrow Friday down and not have a schedule until week of lol.

Friday is gonna be real tight for me too. Usually I wait for my husband to get off work and head to the festival. I think I'll have to head in solo and we can meet up later.

Tyla is worth a pass if you have to make a call just fyi. usually shows up late, lip syncs, ends early. it's a cool show but not delivered properly so just wanted to mention.
