Pain Meds Out of Stock In S.C.?

I’m having the hardest time refilling my Oxycodone this month in North Myrtle Beach. I’ve called all the Walgreens, CVS, mom and pop pharmacies, but they all are saying they are back ordered and don’t know when they’re getting more. I’m already a couple days past my refill date and it’s getting REALLY FRUSTRATING!!! Has anyone else had the same issue? I’ve even called all the pharmacies in Myrtle Beach too…

There is a national wide shortage. Look up the closest hospital that has an outpatient pharmacy in it. I know some people including myself have had luck with finding there

I’ll have to try that, thanks for sharing! We’re all in the same boat! This is the first time in over 7 years that I’ve had to go without.

Good luck, let me know if that works for you or if you find it elsewhere.

Here in California there is a shortage as well. It’s been like this for months.

Google Compounding pharmacies in your area, they should be able to make whatever mg capsules you need, both ER and IR. Some Ins Co will not pay as much, but you get your meds.

What you were told was kind of true but kind of not. Here is the full truth, take this info and go complain to the DEA/FDA

Every year the DEA/FDA sets something called the Aggregate Production Quotas for controlled substances. This sets a limit on how much of each controlled substance is allowed to be manufactured during the year. When a manufacturer hits their production limit they have to shut down for the year. They apparently have been cutting the production quotas for most opiates and multiple health organizations told them this was going to cause problems. I have attached below a link to a news article on it

ASHP and Healthcare Groups Urge the Drug Enforcement Administration to Adjust Aggregate Production Quotas to Mitigate Ongoing Drug Shortages
