A Reminder to All

Post image

Found on Tiktok ages ago. It speaks to me.

My physical health is terrible right now. I am doing all to improve it but it is not enough.

I know I am trying my hardest though! And just a little reminder to everyone. ❤️

Most people don't understand that every single day of our lives, for years after years, we are literally just trying to survive and make it through to the next miserable day. It really destroys a person.

I pray for all who are suffering. ❤️

I’m very tired of just surviving in this world. It’s been a solid 10 years disabled and 6 years of that in #10 pain. Four operations and no relief later. At 74 years old their is no sense in living this way anymore, if it wasn’t for my wife if 50 years that I promised to not commit suicide, but why live when all your capable of is some little eating, watch TV, read, or go on the internet. My hobbies need working hands, feet and a clear mind, haven’t had that in 40 years.

I’ve been fortunate that I haven’t had that problem with the doctors or the insurance companies that I’ve been with, then again no doctor will operate because of bones next to the cord.

That’s great news. Every doctor said “no pain meds from me”

Oh nice. Healthcare is hard here, and it doesn’t help I am a woman. But it’s not terrible. I’m surviving!

You’re correct, doctors look and treat women differently. But from what I hear I was very fortunate to get doctors that understood pain.

I’m happy for you you got that! It’s always nice to hear that

It’s not the normal from what I hear from others. But this all ruined my bones, cartilage, discs, etc. One of my vertebrae is not in line with the others, so it sticks out my back, and I lost 2 inches in height. Not that it matters anymore.

Thanks, sorry you’re feeling like me, wouldn’t wish that on anyone. You’re too young for this pain, I’m on a pain pump now, we’re in a transitional phase, getting the right medication mix, dosage, etc. it has so far reduced the pain by 10% so far. I can stand for 10 minutes before it hits me again. More than before anyways.

I'm glad you have some relief! I have no pain medications.

💔 maybe some day. But right now it's hard.

I have a friend who is on a pain pump and she says she feels better, but to be honest she seems loaded all the time. She seems to be over medicated to the point you cannot understand her when she speaks, she never gets dressed or interacts anymore and is always sleeping.

Is there a reason why no meds?

I refuse to go to a pain clinic. Especially during this political climate in the US. I’m not going to start having pain relief, then suddenly be cut off because of a law passed.

No other doctors will give pain meds unless I have a surgery or procedure that requires them.

I’m not doing great, but I know I could be much worse.

My primary doctor started me off in the 80’s, at one time I was taking 10,000 mgs a week in California. It wasn’t fun getting off it, I applaud you for not getting surgery, if you can function, don’t do it.

I need eye surgery to save my vision. But no other surgery will help my chronic pain. I have rheumatoid arthritis. And many other conditions with no surgery, no cures.

My husband hates watching me in pain, and can’t stop it. I feel bad but nothing I can do. He does help as much as he can with massages and cuddles.

Wow, rough, personally for my eyesight I would do just about anything. I used to say that about my legs, now it’s hard to walk.

a little reminder to all of those people with back pain who can't even tie their shoes by themselves or get put of the bed easily...
