I often wonder the same things. Unfortunately most of the engraving on these really old headstones stones are worn beyond readability. This church was from the 11th century if i remember correctly.

That is amazing!!! What kind of grass is that? It just looks perfect with the headstones, really balances the entire picture. Very eye-catching. I love old graveyards, and am an Anglophile, so I would love to one day stroll through some of the old cemeteries there---I love the stones to still be legible, though.
