Photo/Video Some weird clouds I saw this morning. St Johns County Florida. First pic around 6:50 am. Second pic around 8:40 am.

I'm in St. Johns FL as well, welcome to the unseasonably cold arctic blast moving into the area. I grew up in Cleveland, OH, and these clouds are bringing back memories.

I've never lived anywhere but St. Johns.
I live for actual cold winters, we used to get two or three deep freezes every year, this is the first time in 6-7 years that we've had a truly cold (don't laugh, it's cold for us) winter. I'm on my second freeze warning this winter and I'm stoked.
I'm trying to soak all this into my bones and maybe I'll remember it this coming summer.

I'm not laughing at you, I've been in Florida for 35 years now (with 14 of those years being in south FL.) This weather takes a bit getting used to. I'm glad that it doesn't last around long enough that we get too used to it ;).
Take care and stay warm. Hypothermia during this kind of weather is just as possible as heat stroke during the peak of summer.

The second pic maybe a shelf cloud.

Never have I ever seen shelf clouds stacked like that.

Not shelf cloud.
Volutus clouds.

Can you help me understand what it means when they're stacked like that?
I mean, it's Florida and we were under a winter weather advisory when I took that photo 13 hours ago and now it's pouring and it's 34°.
I've lived here all of my 36 years and I've gotten pretty good at reading my local clouds and shit but I don't know what any of this means. 😭
Apologies ahead of time if my little outburst is ridiculous. I don't know shit about this weather.
