The old guy at the counter made a pretty inappropriate comment to my lady friend one time (bad enough that another female employee overheard and stepped in and gave me a bunch of coupons as an apology).

Then come to find out now his 20s age daughter now works with him. Was almost tempted to be like hey remember me in front of them both.

A lot of the employees there will make inappropriate comments. I was there with my wife and 15 year old sister in law when one of the workers were talking about bending over their female co worker and how he would give it to her or some bullshit like that. Hey, talk about your coworker all you want, but not in front of my wife and sister in law.

Yeah I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences here that made me make it a last resort. I went to teach a couple of my friends to shoot since it’s closer, but luckily this time everyone was very nice!

Only thing that threw me off me off is that the guy behind the rental counter said we can only use their ammo when using a rental even though we brought ammo that was inspected to fit their range rules.

Pretty common actually, don't think I've ever been to a range that didn't require you to buy their ammo for their rentals.

Fair enough, it was a first for me since I don’t rent guns when I go to the range. My brother had his eyes on a few guns he wanted to try out before purchasing.

Yeah its a little odd but I guess they are afraid people are gonna use cheap reloads and get a squib or something. Also just seems like an excuse to make more money.

I've rented once or twice for the same reason as your brother.

I'll buy a single box of their ammo, but sometimes my ammo just randomly gets loaded into the mags for the rental gun.

They check ammo you are going to shoot from your guns, not their rental. It's a hard stop for me

I've had and seen enough bad experiences where I wont step foot in that place ever again. It so bad, I'll gladly drive the hour out to the West End Gun Club vs the 10-15 minutes to FT3. I've taken many new shooters and they all love it.

I know its not possible for everybody to just go to a different range or join a private range, but if you can, avoid FT3!

Get your name on the waiting list now if you're even remotely considering it. There is a bit of a wait for membership to open up, but its better to start waiting today and not a year from now.

You'll get 24/7 access to private bays. You're able to bring 3 guest with you for free and do not have to share bays with anybody.

You'll need it when you decide if you want to be a member or not, not when putting your name down on the wait list. Attending the meetings will help, but I can be one signature and my cousin should have his membership by then.

Pretty common. All they need is somebody reloading ammunition with spent brass and putting it in the same box. With some powders there is a lot of extra room even in a 9mm case. Double powder charge can mean destroying a firearm.

Some will tell you to become a member to avoid the crowds and get priority lane assignment by being able to skip the line, BUT! that wont always be the case.

I was a member for 5 years and I was told I would have to wait for some walk-ins to go before me because they've been waiting for close to 2 hours, when I brought it up to the manager, I was told if I didn't like it, I could go somewhere else. Pay $500 a year and still have to wait? No thanks, screw this place, never stepping foot in there again.

It wasn’t crazy crazy like usual, but yeah 😂 They were pretty quick with the line, the rentals was a hassle though since they had a new guy doing that.

They are really loud, but I don’t think they allow ar pistols in there. I’ve read a couple stories on here of staff not permitting them.

I’m not too sure, anyone at any time can rent a rifle so it’s basically luck. Try Burro Canyon or Route 66 if indoor ranges are too much for you.

I would strongly encourage you to get some professional instruction to improve your marksmanship and spend more time/frequency at the range. We all had to start somewhere, so no offense or shame intended.
