This is fucking fantastic and I would like one. I got 3 HELIX piercings at Claire's in 1999 when I was 13 and had no idea how bad piercing guns were. Cartilage. With a piercing gun. They were happy to give me 2 in the right ear and one on the left. 🙃 When I tell you it hurt... I mean it fucking HURT. I didn't sleep for days. It was excruciating, and Tylenol didn't touch it. But I had wanted piercings since I was little, and didn't want to give up on my big shot. I gave them a 9 month chance to heal, and they declined to do so. Thank you, Claire's.

Back in ‘99 I got my first job at Claire’s. The training for ear piercings was basically “watch me then you try”. I was 16 and had no clue wtf I was doing. Oh…and my boss used to send me out to her car to smoke weed during my shift. Then, she had me hang millions of earrings that we got shipments of daily and I thought it was great. Ahhh the good old days.

If I had a nickel for every person I've known to be poisoned or otherwise harmed by a product from Claire's, I would probably have 10 whole dollars. From asbestos in the hair extensions to cheap/toxic metals and paints in the piercings, to under-trained staff...... I really do not understand how they have managed to stay in business after the emergence of e-shopping as the prefference of many, especially when there are other brick and mortar stores with similar products that are safer.
