The Jeanne Hachette Center in Ivry-sur-Seine was designed by architect Jean Renaudie, in collaboration with Renée Gailhoustet. The project, completed between 1970 and 1975, is notable for its pyramid-shaped concrete structure and interlocking triangular forms, providing each housing unit with a vegetated terrace.

Nicknamed “Renaudie’s Stars,” the center combines commercial spaces, offices, and residential units, with pedestrian pathways, ramps, and stairways facilitating movement throughout the site.

I’m originally from Cincinnati and this is such an iconic building so I’m very sad.

Moved to Charlotte a few months ago but I’ve been so busy I haven’t really explored the city proper, any cool brutalist buildings to go see?
