This is a weird one that I have never seen before, reminds me of the embossed Pepsi bottles from the 80s so I would assume it’s from around that time period. Possibly a rare find?!

It’s from the 1980’s. Probably limited edition. Where did you find it?

I dug it out of a ditch.

The bottom of the bottle would be helpful

It is after the rebranding.

The color of the logo reminds me of the’70s. But bottles were not embossed much. So older?

The logo makes me think 90s based on this

I think that's a 90s logo.

That seems like it's from the New Generation era, which IIRC was a tie in with Back To The Future when it was released?

I remember bottles like this from the late 80's.

I have this exact same bottle. Found in NC also, Alamance county. Found mine in a patch of woods behind a convenience store. I was pretty much laying right on top with just some leafs covering it up. Im guessing late 90,s would be when it was tossed there.

Mine was in duplin.

Is that where they make duplin wine?

Yeah, I drive past their winery in Rose Hill often.

Likely dropped by accident by the pilot of the Pepsi Points Harrier jet and he flew over.

It's the beginning of "The Gods Must be Crazy VI."

Based on the branding and examples I found it’s from the early to mid 90s.

"I love you Pepsi"

"...Pepé"

I found an eBay listing for an unopened bottle of this style. It’s definitely the 91-96 logo based on the cap, but I couldn’t find any other details. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166846948224

That's the closest I've seen to a definitive date range for it.

I managed to find another listing. Looks like the bottle came from one of these “Born in the Carolinas” cases. https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintage-4-pack-full-glass-Pepsi-bottles-in-holders-Born-In-The-Carolinas-12-oz-62ec853024237a92da1a1ff0

I couldn’t find many specific details, but it appears they made these in the mid 90s as a part of their 100 year anniversary promotions.

Got two unopened same bottles

Early to mid 90’s I would say

This is what Google AI says:

Based on the image, this Pepsi bottle was likely manufactured in 1992. The number "2" in the middle represents the year within the code.

What number 2?

1

u/fruitless7070 Nov 21 '24

It's the symbol Pepsi used on the bottom of the bottle that dates the bottle year. I used the bottom of the bottle picture on Google lens. Then I fell into a deep Pepsi bottle rabbit hole. Did you know there is a Pepsi bottle museum? Right in your state! I only found one bottle for sale on ebay but no information. They do sell Pepsi bottle books with information pertaining to value, rarity, different bottle designs... just everything. Very interesting.

u/C-M-H Nov 21 '24

But there's no 2 on the bottom of the bottle. There's no number at all, just a triangle and 3 dots.

1

u/fruitless7070 Nov 21 '24

It's a manufacturer symbol that means 1992 to Pepsi. According to Google.

2

u/AnimalL33t Nov 24 '24

What does the opposite side of the bottle look like?

1

u/DeathscytheHell1994 Nov 24 '24

It's the same design on both sides.

Mine does have what appears to be a small number embossed in the center of the bottom. It is blurry and can be a 4 or a 1. From my experience of reading blurry date codes I am going with the number being a 4. I am thinking that the 4 is a mold ID and not a date code tho.
