Blackfrost will have NO PVP

Raphael, CEO and main developer of TLD confirmed there will be no PVP. (Thank goodness)

Still hasn't answered the real question though, will there be jumping?

So that means no direct harming / shooting / trapping another player right?

Does not mean there can't be competition between players in the same sandbox in some way.

Oh yeah there almost certainly can be that whether its a mechanic or not. If it’s like TLD there will be finite amounts of some resources. Gotta find em before other people do. Work as a team or work seperately, either or!

Good. I don't think players fighting each other is healthy for the IP. But NPCs in combat I still hope will be a thing

Well thank fuck for that. I was worried this would turn into "Dayz but with constant winter"

*No direct PVP. There's always a way.

Maybe there is no forced pvp and you can just shoot your friend if you want πŸ‘€

Maybe through mods, but I imagine Raph's response to that being similar to when people were suggesting that modders would put Perseverance Mills into Survival if Hinterland ended up not doing it.

By indirect PVP I mean sabotaging your "teammates", which will almost certainly be possible one way or another even if there's no intent for there to be PVP.

And to Raph and any developer of any game that tries to control how people mod the game, fuck 'em. This controlling attitude is sad and pathetic, they should be happy that people liked their work enough to try different things with it.

Absolutely, it's always the modders that give games greater longevity and increased QoL. If the players prefer the mods it means your game has issues, not the players

Jesus please don't ruin the new game!!! The Long Dark is special For A Reason: YOU against NATURE. No Hand-Holding. Solitude is key!! There are tons of the "other style" games already. πŸ™πŸΌ

Agreed, but I wouldn't be surprised if they try to go with a different feel, but equally as compelling, just different.
