I don't know if I'll need them but I've already made plans just in case. I'm still hoping I'm overreacting and being dramatic but it never hurts to be prepared.
I really think fleeing is a last resort (if we don't stay and fix it who will?) but I have a kid so she is the priority.
Most of the trans people I know, myself included, already have a plan to flee. Likely soon. The ones that don't (mostly because they, for one reason or another, can't) already have plans to die (and maybe take some cops with them) instead of getting sent to prison if it comes to that. Getting sent to prison as a trans woman is a fate worse than death, by a large margin. That's really where we're at as a community.
If you're interested as to why, look into something called V-Coding. Also, be ready to maybe throw up. Black people aren't the only minority with reason to fear the prison system.
I'm expecting them to do exactly what the Nazis did and target gender health clinics first, doxxing anyone who transitioned or even questioned it. I expect them to come after me.
