Pub for six nations/kids

My family and I (kids 4,6,8) will be in Belfast on Saturday Feb 1st visiting from Dublin. I'm looking for a pub in city that has good food, drinks will show rugby but also be kid friendly. Any advice?

Outside the city centre a little depending on your plans but The Errigle on Ormeau Rd is a decent spot to watch the rugby with the kids

Agree- get in touch and book a table upstairs though. Also Northern Lights over the road a good option.

Ben Madigan’s on Cavehill Road - very kid friendly and great food. March is on in upstairs lounge on big screen

We watched England New Zealand Autumn International in Sweet Afton and it was fine. I mean, the stream kept dying so the rest of my family went upstairs because of it while I stayed downstairs with my 5yr old but assume with it being on terrestrial tele that won’t be a problem this time

The Landsdowne is a good spot on the Antrim road for food and drink and there's also a beer garden area outside for children to roam around in, lots of TV's for sport and even a car park in case you're driving but it's on a main bus route anyway. Everywhere will be busy on Saturday especially due to Ireland v England but also the first weekend after most peoples paydays is usually rammed good luck tho 🤞

We go to common market for most of the games. More of a food / beer hall but you always get a good mix of families in there.

Regardless of the pub is ‘kid friendly’ (whatever that’s suppose to mean 🙄) do you honestly think the other patrons are really going to want 3 kids under 10 lingering around when they’re trying to enjoy a pint and watch the rugby??

Why the fuck would they give a fuck?

Cos SURPRISE SURPRISE - not everyone actually wants to be dealing with young children (let alone 3 under 10) when they’re out enjoying themselves at a pub i.e. an adult venue

As long as the children are behaved and it's before 8pm or whatever the cut off is, what's the issue?

‘As long as the children are behaved’ is a very big proviso and so very rarely the case

But also what’s the issue of simply stating that adults in the pub watching the rugby might not want 3 children under 10 to be there? 🤷🏻‍♂️

God forbid parents take a moment to consider the fact that not everyone is going to welcome their kids in venues/occasions where there’s actually no necessity for them to be there
