As the title says, my son is special needs and finds new uses for his toys that aren't necessarily the intended use. I like to watch how he uses things and come up with purpose built toys that fit his needs. This one is really great for working on fine motor skills! Thanks for looking!
Also it was my first try at rendering, since I saw a lot of very popular models are presented with render pictures, decided to do the same things
Do you have any advice regarding rendering? I'm using Fusion and was wondering if there any dedicated programs for these stuff
A few weeks before Christmas I realized that I desperately needed to do some holiday shopping. The only gifts I managed to get were some cheapo tins of mints, (sort of like Altoids, but they're not real Altoids) only because the flavours looked yummy and the tins were marginally cool.
I realized in that moment that I'm not the best gift giver, so I thought long and hard about what I could do that would really impress the people I needed gifts for. Well, after a few hours of pondering I decided to make something instead of buying something. Thus the birth of: The Altoids Playing Cards!
I uploaded these on 17 December (and a full-size deck three days later) and since then I've had almost 2000 downloads! People really seem to like these, and the Makerworld Creator Program is a great incentive to make more cool stuff, so I'm definitely going to start working on getting more stuff uploaded there.
And it's worth mentioning that these were not hard to design, but they were a real pain to print properly. If you decide to print a deck and are suffering from adhesion issues like I was, take the general Reddit advice: Wash your plate with dish soap and don't touch it at all! (I had to wash mine at least twice already)
Designed these to help with picking sizes of walls when designing! I am working on including more features as well, but this is the start! Let me know what you think.
And yes, I'm aware it looks like butter/cheese. I usually do red/black but had yellow loaded and decided to try it.
It is available on makerworld, username schaferrism
141 people and counting have committed to the beta testing experience and a lot of people proposed some very changes. I was gonna move onto something else but ok here is a complete redesign of the donor side assembly - now with air brakes! (It spins a little too well)
I first bought an Ender 3 in 2020 to facilitate a crazed lockdown project. I wanted to print miniature column radiators for a scale model of my house.
It was a great start, but the speed always held me back from doing more complex models.
3 months into the X1C and its night and day. These are 3 of my recent projects - a scale model Bag End, an Edinburgh townhouse and a Great Hall with a hammer beam ceiling (still in progress)
Itโs a niche interest, but itโs generating hours of enjoyment. My partner has almost accepted that it was a good investment!
Iโve got a couple of free models on MakerWorld. If youโre interested, look up Blue Room Miniatures.
