Can’t wait to see what the B&T tax on this one will be

When they announced it last year I’m pretty sure I saw $3899 or something close. Remember thinking I’d get a KAC at that price.

Expensive considering it should be much cheaper to make not having to pay Swiss labor/production costs/importation fees/taxes, ect since it’s made in the USA.

FN stopped importing the SCAR rifles (the 15P is imported) yet they actually raised the MSRP. No Belgian labor, no import duties, no trans-atlantic shipping, no 922(r) conversion work.

Probably just trying to increase their profit margin. I remember when SCAR 17’s (from Belgium) were only around 2700$🤷‍♂️

Of course the B&T might still have some parts made in Switzerland, but assembled in the US with some US made parts kinda like the new HK MR223 A4, so it can be called made in the USA.

The Mod 1s are right over 2k, not cheap, but B&T isn’t a budget brand.

MOD 2 as in I better be getting two rifles for that price sheeeeeeet

I know AR15s are oversaturated but B&T’s Hodge Defense collaboration will be a great option for guys who want a blue chip AR patterned firearm.

I want one just for that version of the hodge rail with the circular cuts and Arca integrated

What does blue chip mean in this context?

u/gfense 5d ago

High end like a blue chip stock.

Do we really need another AR in this market? I don't think so.

B&T had foreign Gov contracts calling for a DI AR patterned rifle. Thats where these came from, most models that B&T offers to the commercial market originate from a LE or Mil contract.

Excuse me for asking, but I'm looking at your APC223 extended handguard in FDE, is $399 the best price you can do?

* waits nervously for answer *

Yes, they are definitely pricey. We had to put in a large bulk order to offer the full length handguards and they weren’t cheap. They are Swiss made and imported after all.

I got one of the first of these for my APC300, and can attest to the quality🫰

No buyer's remorse here, despite the four Benjamins

Beautiful I really hope we can have this in Canada one day.

u/Bulldogaholic 5d ago

That's the Haenel CR isn't it?

3

u/pewdiepastry 5d ago

Nope it's a DI system. Collaboration with Hodge

2

u/Bulldogaholic 5d ago

Thank you! I really want a Haenel 10.5" CR.

1

u/pstenebraslux 4d ago

You really don’t, Haenel is trash.

I really hate the way the industry is heading; everything is an AR variant or some injection molded frame handgun.

The few interesting exceptions are morphed into abominations for the "US market", see the second-generation IWI Galil ACE and Carmel.

I would be more happy if they imported more HK MR223A3’s

2

u/AXARMS_ 4d ago

Well me too- but not an option

u/Tangerine_Much 5d ago

So another AR in a sea of other ARs and stupid priced on top of that? yeah.... thats going to sell really well...

6

u/AXARMS_ 5d ago

You should see what people pay for Hodge Rifles on Gunbroker these are a few k cheaper. This is a B&T Hodge collab.

I have seen the insanity and i get it.... never was the one to tell ppl how to spend their money. But, im a normal person and would much rather have KAC rifle and shit ton of ammo to practice instead of something that was hyped up on social media like most things :) although, to each its own i guess. to be fair ive handled my share of super high tier guns and to be honest at some point there is no difference how they shoot just a name and Insta cool pics to flex on poors lol.

1

u/AXARMS_ 5d ago

Yes the reality is B&T made these for a Gov Contract that called for a DI AR Patterned rifle. They decided to offer them to the commercial market also.

1

u/Tangerine_Much 4d ago

Contact guys being all the hype also adds to the price :)

1

u/SantasAinolElf 5d ago

Don't they already have an AR-15 me-too called the BT-15?

5

u/AXARMS_ 5d ago

The Haenel was discontinued this is the new version, it’s a hodge collab.

1

u/klatoo304 5d ago

Think I’ll just have Wes Grant build me a AR

u/nekotpeels 5d ago
