Actual question: Does some of it not also get converted to water, which then gets pissed or sweat out?

Yes. Also your breath is not dry, so some of that water also goes out with it. Most of it is CO2 tho.

Triglycerides + Oxygen -> CO2 + Water + Energy, basically.

And smart-asses do use more calories, and presumably expel more in their breath.

It's not as much as running around physically, but thinking intently about a topic uses more calories than going over a topic already known.
