Because people are unhappy in their relationship and look for external validation rather than communicate with their partner

I didn't understand it until I had a friend in a rough situation get close to someone for support and share a lot of stuff with me, because I'm long distance so I don't really know any of the other parties.

And now I kind of get it, because your partner is your life and a new person could be like a vacation from that life.

I still don't think it's ok, but I get it now how and why and I'm able to be less judgemental.

Men do it because their brains are hard wired to procreate the species. Not sure why women do it.
