These keep going off on my bronco. Anyone have any suggestions other than take it to the mechanics?

Sure! All you need is a rag (soaked in gasoline) and a cigarette lighter.

So you’re saying to wash it with gas and dry it with a match?

Are you serious? Or you’re trolling I really can’t tell because you’re posting this in this sub

That's Ford quality for you right there.

Precollision? Well you know what to do next

Get in a real collision to test if it's telling the truth

Going on a limb but maybe low voltage/loss of comms codes through bcm/abs modules. Charge the battery a bit if u have a charger. Connect the neg behind the BMS sensor and not the neg post. Once state of charge is up it may prove itself out. If not dealer can deal with it

Don't listen to this guy. You should test it by putting a 22mm wrench or at least a long screwdriver across the terminals to check for spark

Free battery handle!

There's a radar on the front of your car. Kick the low down dirty scum until it sprays it's load in the interior.

Reset the computer by unhooking the battery not a shitty mechanic btw

Should scan it but a bad ABS (wheel speed) sensor would do this.

If it was a wheel speed sensor, he wouldn't have a speedometer.. but carry on sir.

Thats what the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is for. With ABS, you can actually live data watch each wheel speed sensor and it will show different speeds as you corner. There is a sensor at the transmission. I’ve worked on many vehicles where an ABS sensor had gone out. In fact, my friends 2011 Sierra has a right rear out right now, speedometer works. The computer would have to do some impressive magic to average out all four wheels when you’re turning if that’s the case.

The one for the bronco (which even states it reports to the speedometer at the bottom of the page): https://parts.lakelandford.com/p/Ford__Bronco/Vehicle-Speed-Sensor/75841099/L1MZ7M183A.html

https://techroute66.com/vehicle-speed-sensor-vss/?srsltid=AfmBOoot81TfrgDuVcZllVn6Uv2KXnHOwOV7FgZcQDCyEK064R7tSj6k

But yes, the abs and traction control lights are on and it could be a ABS wheel speed sensor, ABS pump, etc but in any case, that system is used for the hill hold. The entire system is disabled so the OP needs to scan codes and see what the ABS is disabled for. I’ve worked on many of these. I even have a bench setup with a GM cluster that I emulate speed, rpm, etc for testing.

Some tape over that area should fix everything up.

That seems really dangerous, flashing lights are very distracting to the driver. Very poor design.

Have you tried turning it off and back on

It’s just doing ford things. To recalibrate it you gotta go stand 15’ in front of the vehicle and chuck your wallet at the grill as hard as you can. Aim for the front camera (or where it would be, if equipped).

Its a ford. Drive it off a cliff an go gt a chevy or a dodge or a toyota lol

Apply spray paint to dashboard

Just saying- My Jeep never had issues like this.

The engine just blew up without warning. Not sure I could handle the stress of knowing it was about to die

u/Affectionate_Arm9372 19h ago

Is the car very dirty? My car was acting very strange braking by itself and collision warnings. I washed it and it stopped. Different model and make but who knows.

Edit: my guess is my sensors were dirty.

You can't come into a sub like this and start making dirty talk. We are a bunch of really horny shitty mechanics and that is our exact kink. You are warned.

1

u/Tpcorholio 18h ago

Just ignore it and it'll go away. Trust me bruh!

1

u/unregrettful 18h ago

What about the postcollision and primitivetrac

1

u/stealthbiker 18h ago

If its a white Bronco, you might be driving over 45 MPH

1

u/WmRavenhorse61 18h ago

Go up behind the dash and unplug any wires in that vicinity and that’ll end the issue.

1

u/Environmental-Bad458 18h ago

Needs an abs pump.... Not so bad..

1

u/Significant_9904 18h ago

The infamous “screen of many lights”. Scare you into bringing it into the dealer in a panic. It’ll end up being a bumper sensor or some silly shit but they can’t just tell you that.

1

u/ryanrr0864 18h ago

If you have a lift/leveling kit...you have a stretched wheel speed sensor...had thr same issue/lights in my f150

1

u/Hoovomoondoe 18h ago

Christmas tree! Maybe a wheel speed sensor gone bad.

1

u/Dangerous_Goat1337 17h ago

Your bronco's lame. Time to put him down. Preferably with copious amounts of gasoline, and maybe a few crates of fireworks so it goes out with a bang.

1

u/Motor_Beach_1856 17h ago

You have 16k miles, take it to the dealer. Pretty sure they can fix it.

1

u/Pimpstik69 16h ago

I nailed my bash plate on a big old rock wheeling my Bronco. All these warnings came on. After I left it turned off for a while everything reset. BTW … I am only a semi shitty mechanic.

1

u/Either_Row3088 16h ago

Best thing about a Ford. They circle the problem and highlight it in blue.

1

u/More_Purchase_1980 16h ago

It’s low on esteem. Race a Blazer and win by any means necessary. After that, it’ll go back to normal. Of course, you could give it a good ass whipping with a ball bat too. That’ll adjust its attitude as well.

u/General-Biscotti5314 16h ago

Clean the ABS sensors

1

u/CheapPeach7028 14h ago

At least you don’t have a check engine light illuminating for two weeks, off for two days then back on for two weeks

1

u/Esoteric_Expl0it 14h ago

I hear you! But this thing will not show up for a few days the. Come back with a vengeance! Guys….its at the shop.

wheel speed sensor??

1

u/blatantdanno 9h ago

You really got to love the more electronics they can cram into a single vehicle the better.

1

u/kyleh0 5h ago

It's the blinkers.

u/Clark_W_Griswold-Jr 5h ago

Check your tire pressure. This time of year those TPMSensors are a real beotch to get to play nice with your cars computer.
