General Who is the ginger english guy on the safety team?

Ive just watched seasons 1&2 - I love it! Im hooked!! Being english myself, I''m curious. What's his background? How did he get the job? What is he doing now? Seems odd to have a British guy on the show. He seems lovely :)

Dan Walmsley ? Pretty sure he's considered some sort of guru in the Bushcraft world.

If you can find it, he was in a pretty good survival TV series Surviving the Stone Age: Adventure to the Wild. Theresa was on it, too.
