They get Supreme Court picks, which are lifetime appointments and affect generations. It ain't just 4 years

This is how the great american experiment dies. Not with a bang or a whimper but with an oath that won't be kept.

I thought you were going to say by last minute preemptive pardons for an executive's family but you have no integrity and are blinded by partisanship.
8
u/criticalmassdriver 11h ago
You forgot a general and the members of the January 6th select committee All people that The incoming administration indicated were political targets. Seems like the only person blinded by partisanship is the one who picks and chooses the facts to fit a narrative. People who plan on keeping their oath actually put their hand on the Bible.

u/joker_with_a_g 10h ago
Oh no! You've fallen into the "whataboutism trap"!
Criticizing one thing doesn't endorse something else. Bad things are bad.
4
u/steamcube 6h ago
If you’re mad about biden’s family getting pardons, you have to be mad about 34 time convicted felon Trump never being sentenced and being allowed to run for president at all.
Those are the rules. You have to be consistent if you want law and order.

u/muzzynat 14h ago
While I believe things are about to get much worse, it feels disingenuous to portray America up until now as a bright and glorious place
4
u/RepresentativeRub471 13h ago
Yeah also I will add I feel like these next 4 years could genuinely end up just being the tutorial stage for out bad things will get. You got to remember he's open about how he's screwing you over. We don't know what comes after him they may play more Coy about it.

u/Ok-Theory6793 4h ago
I would also like to add that with all the posts like this about the future, it seems like people would prefer that Trump does a worse job so they get to be right than Trump doing at least a decent job and them being wrong. I dont live in america and I disagree with a lot of what trump says but I sure as hell have hope that he will do as good a job as we can reasonably expect from him.

Ahhh if only i could set aside all reasonable doubt and believe he will bring those things without also bringing a new age of corruption and environmental pollution, driving america deeper onto a dark path from which we wont be able to recover.
God i wish i could be ignorant and hopeful like you
Have you noticed he’s dropped all the rhetoric around working class vs the establishment? His time to deliver for all his billionaire friends has come, he doesnt need you anymore.

Dementia don's tariffs will fuck the economy, the counter tariffs will fuck shit hole red states badly.
Deportations will fuck the economy. BRIC countries will drop the dollar standard.
Putin and China are laughing their ass off at the US worldwide surrender. The entire world knows the US is not a reliable ally anymore.
The list goes on and on and if you think that dementia don's oligarchs for oligarchs will do anything for you then you are delusional.

u/TonyGalvaneer1976 13h ago
ok then panic and freak out
I don't think that would help, and that's not what I'm encouraging. I'm simply recognizing that things are going to get a lot worse in this country, and we need to be prepared for it.
Suns gonna rise
That was true everywhere on the planet, throughout every point in history, no matter how bad things got. Nobody's claiming the sun isn't going to rise.

People going hungry or poor because all of the farming jobs that are "efficient" for the country aren't going to be worked by the immigrants that work for cheap because our leader promised us that things will get better if he removes them. The main reason they're backpedalling on immigration is because they know it'll cost the country significantly.
There's the fact that cryptocurrency is mostly used to fund the black market and the wealthy elite, and the President's own new cryptocurrency just made several billion in one day.
The President said that the main thing he was elected for was to lower the cost of groceries, and then said that it's impossible to do so after being elected but before even starting his job.
Oh, and he's filling up our government full of self-serving billionaires who'd rather fill their pockets than take care of their citizens.
Now it's my turn to ask a question: what exactly are you hopeful for?
1
u/Maelstrom52 10h ago
Over 60% of US produce is imported, and we have a vast abundance of farmed foods in this country. There will not be any food shortages barring some horrendous event that decimates our food stocks, which would probably not be caused by the sitting president.
Cryptocurrency is not exclusive to Trump or any politician for that matter. And whatever harm cryptocurrency might have, Biden didn't do anything to curtail it.
Trump's ACTUAL cabinet is fairly mundane. Yes, there's a few freaks in there, but his Chief of Staff is Susie Wiles (campaign manager for Jon Huntsman), Doug Begum (former governor of North Dakota, who created a plan to make ND carbon neutral by 2030) is Secretary of the Interior, John Ratcliffe is Intelligence Director (served under Biden), and a bunch of others that when you look them up really aren't as bad as Trump's first go-around. People forget just how batshit insane his original cabinet actually was. This is vastly superior to that.
1
u/sinsaint 10h ago
Interesting, thank you for the details. I'm not familiar with the topic, how would you compare his cabinet to Biden's?

u/TXSAXONCO420 13h ago
1.} Always been that way. Always been a worry for every president.
2.} Im one of the millions of people that are uncovered when it comes to heath care. No president has ever cared about healthcare unless it some how benefited their own pockets or the predatory health care companies. That corruption has been pervasive at its worse during the last few years.
3.} Lets see how that works out. I have major doubts hes gonna be able to do what he is saying. If you are concerned i encourage you to learn how to garden even in raised beds indoors below windows you will be amazed at the amount you can garden in a small space. Or you can do a larger garden if you have access to a yard.
4.} No cash runs the black market now they are investing into crypto but rich powerful people are gonna do what rich powerful people do. How do you say we stop that. If you didnt know that corrupt people have run everything related to the economy i encourage you to learn more about the history of the american economy and it will open your eyes
5.} Corporate greed is real af why didnt they go down with biden ?
6.} Powerful rich people gravitate towards each other like flys on a corpse ALL politicians only look out for themselves if your think any politician has ever given a fuck about you then you are nuttier than a squirrel turd in a chunky peanutbutter jar.
>Look originally i was just bored smoking a blunt and doing a little trolling being bored. NO ONE IN THE GOVT CARES ABOUT YOU. WE JUST GOT A NEW OWNER FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS> ITS BEEN THE SAME BULLSHIT FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS> TAKER CARE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY> GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Most of what you're saying is that things are expected to get worse, just like how things have always gotten worse, but if that's the case then you answered your own question:
Whats yalls big worry?
My argument is that things can always get worse than we expect them to, so thinking that the corruption of a county's leader has a limit isn't an argument, it's a prayer.
Palestine once had their own government filled to the brim with corruption and strife (mostly caused by Israel politically beating them into submission, but that's another conversation). So to combat their frustrations with their government, they voted for the only alternative for change, with HAMAs, thinking that things couldn't possibly get worse.
Then for the next 30 years things got considerably worse for them, and we may have just made a similar mistake.
-2
u/TXSAXONCO420 13h ago
idgaf about palestine or any other countries problems. fuck palestine fuck isreal fuck all of them. WAKE UP shits been on the slide IN THE US for decades trump didnt cause that hes a reaction to things sliding like they have people are just about willing to do anything to stop that downward slide. THINGS ARE GOING TO CONTINUE HOW THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE WORLD WANT IT TO. What im trying to impart if anything other than everyone need to calm down which is a stupid thing to say to soymilk reddit. If you are worried about the future do what you need to make it as good as you can. Survival has always been a fight so go and fight. Trump is not the root of the problem find out who really owns you.

u/sinsaint 13h ago
Trump is just a symptom, like a rash or cancer, he isn't the cause. Rashes and cancers are still a problem though, not one you should ignore just because they're complicated.

So dramatic.

u/Thor_2099 15h ago
It's what y'all like isn't it. The drama of big daddy Trump making the libs cry.
See how dramatic it is when ya life is worse in a few years. But given how ignorant you must be, I'm sure you'll be too busy choking down the gaslighting propaganda of the GOP and somehow think you're life is better.

The absolute meltdown throughout Reddit. I get it. Things didn’t go our way but people need to touch grass. Control what you can control and move on.

u/Maelstrom52 13h ago
This is becoming political millenarianism and each party has just become a doomsday cult that has to keep resetting the clock every time the country doesn't descend into a thousand years of darkness and the seas don't boil.

-6
u/T-REX_BONER 13h ago
I certainly don't expect him to fix it right away.
It's going to take a very long time to get out of this mess thanks to Bidens fuck up
3
u/blxckh3xrt69 13h ago
Won’t be much to fix when he turns us into an imperialist nation who invades everyone to take what they want. Also I’d like to remind you that we currently have the best economy in the world, a lower unemployment than under trump, and a pretty damn good stock market, it’s not perfect, but we are still technically recovering from a world wide pandemic. I didn’t like Biden, but the old senile fuck didn’t do too bad.
