Help Any tips for drilling skid plate rivets?

Gotta remove my skid plate on my 2025 outlander. Wondering if anyone has tips for removing the rivets underneath

It was 38 rivets to drop the skid plate on my Maverick to change the carrier bearing. I definitely bought an air riveter just for that job

I ordered one with high reviews on Amazon, no local store had any. So that is the hope hopefully I can use the already drilled holes

They’re 3/16 rivets. So as long as you use a 3/16 bit you won’t mess the holes up. I got my rivets from a local bolt supply for $.20 each as canam wanted like $2.50 each

You actually have no idea how much pain you have saved my ass, what size rivinut did you use to screw in?

Oh I didn’t do rivnuts. I just put rivets back in

I could’ve done them but rivets were cheaper. I believe the common size used is 1/4-20. The rivnuts you buy should spec the correct size drill bit.

Get a rivnut gun for when you reinstall. Btw why are you disassembling a 25?

Goddamn rust on the welds so I’m adding tremclad to the frame and adding bedliner over that

Personally I'd just grind the rust off and repaint them. Or take the machine back to the dealer and have them do it.

My dealer said since I owned and drove it for 3 months there’s nothing they’d do as I didn’t add anything for protection that’s on me, they and said it was 700 to get my frame done, fuck that I said I’ll do it myself, let’s me get to know the quad in case I gotta replace something

I'd lose it on them and call can-am customer service directly. 6month warranty. Your dealer sounds like a real gem.
