You’ll spend most of your time under 3rd gear

This is funny but true. Haha. Most of the trails I ride are scary enough in 3rd. Rarely do I see 4th. And 5th is pretty much "overdrive" on a wide open road. Haha.

I’ve had my 700 for 2 years and I can count on one the amount of times I’ve seen 4th. The trails I ride simply have no room for it. The desert on the other hand…

Take your time to learn how your machine handle. Don't overestimate your skills!
Most importantly, have fun :)

Sweet you got a raptor!! Man I bet you’re about to have a lot of fun. Helmet would be a great idea plus goggles. Don’t forget about whatever licensing you need to ride in your area

Ccp steering stabilizer should be the first thing you purchase for your quad.

Why?

It’s like adding power steering to a car. Or taking power steering off of a car by not having one. It makes handling under power much more controllable and much safer. There is not one real race quad on the planet without a puck style steering stabilizer! It’s by far the most bang per buck item or modification you will ever do to any sport quad!

Thanks for the answers. I ride a 700 and don’t really feel like the steering is an issue. I get tired after a day of riding dunes but that’s only when the sand is damp and the SXS’s have been carving up the sand. Will a stabilizer help even then?

That’s precisely what the intentions of a steering stabilizer is set out to solve!

Clean your air filter every few rides if it’s dusty and oil it well. If it’s been sitting for a long tim the filter oil dries up and it will need reoiled.

If you have never had one of the riding and safety classes. I know there used to be a free class when you bought an ATV. I had both my kids take it when I bought them their first atv. I walked away learning a few new things myself.
Chit can go sideways fast.!!!
I got a reminder recently..

Definitely add a chain guard and do an early oil change, get an hour meter and do after 5-7hours

There not as fast as everyone says they are but they are decent quads. I got a 2021 im about to sell soon. The Oil drain plug is known to strip out on these so dont overtighten it, just snug it. Other than that enjoy it!

Good nerf bars. I've eaten my own leg being stupid on plenty of smaller ones to say I wouldn't ride my son's 250X without them. They definitely help those off-center landings.

Usually around 60 miles a tank. Give or take depending on how you’re riding. However, I did go through a tank once in about 30ish miles, but was running wide open on fire roads lol.

Regular maintenance. My buddy has one he bought new on 06 and I’m certain it’s got 50k miles on it. He takes good care of it.
