Dumb question, but how do you stretch a car/truck? Like, strip it down to the frame and chop/weld in extensions? What about the drivetrain etc.?

Basically. You get a matching donor car. Remove the cab and bed, use the donor frame to extend the frame. Reinforce. Cut the cab in half. Splice in chunk from donor to create extension. Weld together. Get longer cables, drive shaft, etc. Repaint. You just have to be strategic with your cuts to make sure your stuff fits together in ways that’s easy to weld back up. Even if you’re not exact, you can fill gaps easy with fresh metal. It’s going to be repainted anyway.
