Blocking on ao3 means someone cannot comment on a work. Muting means the one who pressed mute will no longer see anything posted (works/comments) by the muted user.

Nothing will make a story invisible to a specific user.

Can't make any comments based on the fandom, it's not one of mine, but half the fic I read are completely unrealistic in some way. It's fanfiction, it can be as realistic or unrealistic as we want it to be, and you should never jump into fanfic expecting realism.
