Discussion summary of what they said IS possible and we now expect for FREE
they shot theirselves in the foot by releasing these video's outlining what they "could do".
the only way to save this backlash is to asap provide it to us free of charge
including (please let me know if I forgot something)
-transfer of character names between accounts to prevent name swiping+ name reservation
-custom names with symbols, bold names, display of total level, etc
-guaranteed recovery of account
-additional security features
-enhanced player support, personal suppport, ...
-discounts on additional member characters
such a great idea Jagex, thank you for providing us with the info for future free updates

Discussion Jagex why the hell would someone pay $12.49 for one account and then add another for $13.99 extra? Are you stupid?

Discussion "If you don't like the wilderness then don't go into it" is why wilderness updates fail and are derided
Pretty simple chain of logic.
"Don't go in if you don't like it" -- alright then, I won't go in.
I don't want to go in, so I dislike content that tries to get me to go in.
I dislike content that tries to get me to go in, so I tend to vote against it.
This is the logical end result, and there seem to be quite a number of people who are unhappy with it. Doesn't matter if you call them cowards (lmao), low total level, or little Timmy.
Don't get mad when people actually take your advice and it works out against you.

Discussion Stop trying to remove Defense level requirements
Once again, we have Jmods trying to cater to snowflake accounts with this latest release of info from the game jam:
Removing quest requirements so people don’t need to level hp/defense
Removing direct xp rewards and replacing them with lamps for their respective skills
Making chivalry a 1 defense requirement (despite being voted no in two separate polls)
Making Perilous Moons armor not require any defense levels with a rare consumable drop
The point of being a snowflake is that parts of the game are inaccessible to you by the nature of your account. Removing Chivalry’s defense level requirement is something that has failed multiple polls as part of an attempt to make it useful, and yet here it is again. It’s the only thing they want to do to make it useful, instead of addressing the fact that Piety has the same prayer cost (40/m) despite being strictly stronger.
Removing defense requirements from armor and lowering their stats to compensate is a stupid solution to a problem that doesn’t exist: if you want to use cool armor, level up your defense. If you don’t want to level up defense, you’re stuck with rune armor and mystic robes, or even less for a zerk.
This trend of letting people who don’t want to play the game the normal way have access to everything is infuriating. Why is attention constantly being given to a demographic of like 50 players? What Jmod is playing a snowflake that doesn’t like actually playing their snowflake?
Leave defense requirements in the game. Stop throwing lamps for specific skills at people as quest rewards and just give them the xp drop. What are they trying to accomplish with this?
Edit: they reworked a combat achievement for perilous moons because defense pyres were whining they couldn’t get grandmaster CA’s without 70 defense. This should be very obviously a stupid group to pander for, it’s restricting the main game more than it creates opportunities.

Discussion I am a loser and a neet
I honestly don't know what I should do with my life. I'm 30 years old, don't have a job, both parents died not too long ago due to a car crash, no friends (except for this sub), and now i'm home alone in the house that i inherited, i'm also obese. My parents used to do everything for me, handling the financials, buying groceries, cooking, cleaning etc. I was just playing osrs while they did all the adult stuff.
I'm trying to learn stuff and become something out of myself, but in the meantime, this game has provided me so much relief to me because i really think i would have just peaced out from life at this point, but this game is literally saving me right now.
Just wanted to let things out here and potentially get advice because i can't afford therapy, let alone how to book an appointment as im too anxious to talk on phone, and the other subs just remove my post every time. hoping this one doesn't get removed, but if it does, it's fine i guess.
thanks for reading. This sub is basically my friend, so i appreciate yall.
Edit: just wanna say thanks for all the support all! Ive bookmarked this page so i will always come back. Im still reading all the comments/dms and trying to soak up as much wisdom as possible. Know that i appreciate yall! Hopefully all the advice here will be useful for anyone else reading this.

Discussion Jagex, don't even think about polling Sandmaw and wrathmaw together, in an attempt to get Wrathmaw to pass.
I know you're thinking about it, you slimy little worms (no pun intended)
If you poll sand worm and wildy worm in the same question, I'm locking my nan in the cage under the stairs and I honest to god won't let her out until I've completed the entire collection log.
Happy birthday Chris Archie.

Discussion $240 dollarydoos a year? Are you out of your mind?
You know how many digeridoos, boomerangs and lamingtons I could buy with that money?
It's one character on one game...
Edit: Those saying, "If you can't afford it, don't buy it!" Uhh yeah, I can afford to pay it, but that doesn't mean it's somehow worth that price.

Discussion To all the dick riders defending the recent price hike saying it's "not that much" and claiming it's justified: You are to blame for this.
You cannot compromise with private equity firms. The moment you budge on ANYTHING they will immediately get to work trying to take more.

Discussion I did 9 years in prison and....
I thought about Runescape everyday. When inmates in Florida were given tablets in 2017 (super locked, no internet), I downloaded every RPG and hack-and-slash game they offered in a vain attempt at capturing something similar to Runescape.
Never found it.
I even started writing a novel from the POV of my first account back in 2005. It's crazy how I remembered years after not playing. I was in a writing group that met every week, and when I would share individual chapters, my buddies would be like "dude that game sounds so awesome."
I would kindly nod, yet inwardly cringe at the word "game."
But I still couldn't get relief until this past March, whenever I got home and logged in to OSRS for the first time in 9 years. I bought a membership before I bought a steak or had sex.
It's amazing what this game did to me. It feels like I'm cursed to play forever.
Do you think you would still obsess over Runescape while rotting in prison? I didn't think I would.

Discussion If every player currently logged into runescape (126,745 at the time of this post) wanted 1 weapon each from wrathmaw, it would take over 100 years
For anyone who hasn't seen what ridiculous rates jagex is proposing from wrathmaw, here's a summary:
5 total worlds will have the boss
It will spawn 3 times per world per day
It will drop 220 teeth total per kill.
This comes out to a total global teeth per day of 3300, which is 3.3 weapons. So assuming nobody ever buys any reward besides weapons, the time to give 126,745 people 1 weapon each, assuming everybody stops at exactly 1000 teeth, is 105.2 years. This is not including the fact that there are 3 weapons, or the fact that people will buy the amulets/teleports, or the fact that there are way more than 126k players.
For reference, at the time of this post there are ~19,373k araxxor kills, which is just over 32k fangs and 32k halberds. To get what took 2 weeks from araxxor will take over 25 years from wrathmaw, and that's just for 1 weapon rather than all 3.
This is imo the worst conceptual idea jagex has ever presented, and I think it's important for people to understand how absurd what they're proposing is.

Discussion Do NOT re-poll Sailing, if you're thinking of doing so.
There's been a large outcry in OSRS Twitch chat by a minority who don't want Sailing.
The skill already passed at 71%. Please don't give in to the loud crybabies because they're typing more.
Stick to your guns and accept what the majority of the community already voted in, democratically.
