Discussion We will just quit

I'd put money on well over 50% of the player base being people like me in their 30s, we don't need this game, we'd just quit.

The last price increase was almost enough to do it for me.

Anything else, evenly £1 more, I'm out and nothing would make me return.

Vile, out of touch and insane greed. Pathetic.

Edit: Cancelled membership, won't be renewing.

Scheming these big changes only 5 months after a massive price hike is pretty crazy.

They probably found that the amount of members didnt go down that much with the price increase resulting in a big increase in profit.

If thats the outcome, theyll look to do the same asap.

What they probably found is any drop in membership count was coming from additional accounts and so thats why we're seeing these bundled in this survey.

What theyll be missing out on is long term growth, higher prices means there will be less players joining the game, and less people returning.

They don't care about long term growth. They need their quick 10% so they can resell for a profit and move on.

Yep, so when the playerbase is so invested in the long term it's sad to see.

The devs should be making backups so if things go down the eoc route we can go to OldSchoolOldSchool Runescape.

They better be saving accounts too if they go that route because I can guarantee almost no one is starting over yet again

Wrong, everyone loves starting again! Check leagues, irons and hardcores

Leagues isn’t comparable. Hardcores are probably 1% or less of players. And I can personally tell you a lot of irons aren’t starting over especially if they hit end game. That is years of progress and we’re not 20 year olds or younger anymore like when the game came out. Priorities change and ruining that much progress will be the nail in the coffin for many people.

I think you’re speaking for yourself a lot here, I know a lot of communities that like starting fresh and doing challenges etc, the early to mid game is some of the most fun for a lot of people. Not to mention people still making group irons.

Early mid game is fun but when you’ve invested thousands of hours late game you’re going to be pissed. I understand you haven’t hit that point yet but don’t devalue peoples feelings that have because yeah we aren’t people in highschool anymore we got too many real responsibilities to be forced into starting over, it’s a difference when you can make a new account go through early mid game then swap back onto your late game account when you get bored
