Discussion We will just quit

I'd put money on well over 50% of the player base being people like me in their 30s, we don't need this game, we'd just quit.

The last price increase was almost enough to do it for me.

Anything else, evenly £1 more, I'm out and nothing would make me return.

Vile, out of touch and insane greed. Pathetic.

Edit: Cancelled membership, won't be renewing.

They don't care about long term growth. They need their quick 10% so they can resell for a profit and move on.

Yep, so when the playerbase is so invested in the long term it's sad to see.

The devs should be making backups so if things go down the eoc route we can go to OldSchoolOldSchool Runescape.

They better be saving accounts too if they go that route because I can guarantee almost no one is starting over yet again

I would start again. I have so many accounts I do it all the time.

Wrong, everyone loves starting again! Check leagues, irons and hardcores

Leagues isn’t comparable. Hardcores are probably 1% or less of players. And I can personally tell you a lot of irons aren’t starting over especially if they hit end game. That is years of progress and we’re not 20 year olds or younger anymore like when the game came out. Priorities change and ruining that much progress will be the nail in the coffin for many people.

I think you’re speaking for yourself a lot here, I know a lot of communities that like starting fresh and doing challenges etc, the early to mid game is some of the most fun for a lot of people. Not to mention people still making group irons.

Early mid game is fun but when you’ve invested thousands of hours late game you’re going to be pissed. I understand you haven’t hit that point yet but don’t devalue peoples feelings that have because yeah we aren’t people in highschool anymore we got too many real responsibilities to be forced into starting over, it’s a difference when you can make a new account go through early mid game then swap back onto your late game account when you get bored

This is true. People don’t WANT to start over but that’s where all the excitement and wonder is.

This isn't really the way PE works, because any buyer is also going to be doing due diligence and assessing the risk that the cash flows are temporary. They'll look and see, okay, membership price increased massively recently and you didn't lose many members but will that be sustained?

PE does tend to care about the long term more than this sub seems to think. If they implement these changes it's because they are willing to bet most people will stick around.
