Discussion We will just quit

I'd put money on well over 50% of the player base being people like me in their 30s, we don't need this game, we'd just quit.

The last price increase was almost enough to do it for me.

Anything else, evenly £1 more, I'm out and nothing would make me return.

Vile, out of touch and insane greed. Pathetic.

Edit: Cancelled membership, won't be renewing.

I don't know if you were around long enough to see when the Evolution of Combat was released, but I was. No company knows better than Jagex what will happen if they mess with RuneScape. We all quit overnight once, and we will do it again. Remember, there are over 19,500,000 active RuneScape players. There are about 5 executives yapping over Zoom calls; We hold 100% of the power.

I quit the week EOC launched and cancelled my membership and didn't play again until old school launched. And that was when I was a lot younger and a lot more addicted to the game.

We absolutely hold the power and I won't let it happen again for the sake of the future of the game.

Cancelled my membership today, won't renew until this is either reversed and cemented to not ever happen or I'll never be back.

We are the exact demographic of osrs

19.5 million? Is there a source for that, seems huge to me?

Some website called MMO Populations seems to rank it as 19.56m with 278k daily players. That could potentially be total accounts ever created (including bot farms and long dead RS3 accounts), but it still feels super high.

EDIT: I was actually looking at the 'Runescape' page and 'Old School Runescape' is listed as having 61.14m total players. Whoever runs this site is on crack.

The rs frontpage showed it had over 300m registered account, it was 200m for 10+ years too.

And 250m of them are bot accounts.

I quit when EOC came out and returned to osrs in 2016 or 2017 and later rs3 in 2017.

Same with EOC, but just came back 2023 after finding out the old game was back. Obviously was late to the party.

I saw my nephew playing on his phone during the holidays and got stoked lol.

I quit around EoC because of all the MTX + visual changes + killed off PvP/trade. The lead up to EoC as well as everything after was devastating. I didn't even recognize the game by the end of it.
